Digital Restaurant Menu

Stop reprinting. Stop overpaying. Upload your PDF once and share a beautiful digital flipbook that's always up to date — no app, no developer, no hassle.

What is a digital restaurant menu?

A digital restaurant menu replaces printed menus with an online flipbook that customers access by scanning a QR code or tapping a link. Instead of reprinting every time you change a price or add a seasonal dish, you simply upload a new PDF. The link stays the same, the QR code stays the same, and your customers always see the latest version. DIR.MENU makes this possible in under two minutes — no technical skills required.

Frequently asked questions

What is a digital restaurant menu?

A digital restaurant menu is an online version of your paper menu that customers access via a QR code or shareable link. Instead of handing out a physical menu, customers scan a code at the table and the menu opens instantly in their browser — no app download, no account, no friction. With DIR.MENU, you upload your existing PDF and it is automatically converted into an interactive flipbook that works on any phone, tablet, or desktop. You keep the same link and QR code forever. Every time you update your menu, you simply re-upload the PDF and customers immediately see the new version — no reprints, no design agency, no cost per update.

How much does a digital menu cost?

DIR.MENU is free to start with no credit card required. The free plan gives you one menu, a permanent shareable link, a QR code, and a 7-day trial — after that your menu goes offline until you upgrade. Pro is $200/yr — 3 menus, 20 MB uploads, always-live menus, branding removal, and embed support. There's also a limited Forever plan — a one-time payment for unlimited menus, 100 MB uploads, and every future feature, no subscription ever. Upgrading takes one click from your dashboard.

Can I use my existing PDF menu?

Yes. DIR.MENU accepts any standard PDF file — A4, US letter, portrait, or landscape orientation. There is no special export format required. You can upload a PDF designed in Canva, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or any other tool you already use. DIR.MENU converts it into an interactive flipbook automatically. The free plan supports files up to 5 MB. Pro raises the limit to 20 MB. Business raises it to 100 MB — ideal for hotel menus with many pages and high-resolution photos. No design changes are needed to switch from paper to digital.

How do customers access the digital menu?

Customers access your digital menu by scanning a QR code or tapping a link. The menu opens instantly in their default browser — there is no app to download, no account to create, and no loading screen beyond the normal page load. You can print the QR code on table tents, stickers, receipts, or your storefront window. You can also share the link directly in your Instagram bio, WhatsApp messages, Google Maps listing, TripAdvisor profile, or your restaurant website. Every customer who opens the link sees the most current version of your menu, regardless of when the QR code was printed.

Can I update my menu without changing the link?

Yes — this is one of the core features of DIR.MENU. Your shareable link and QR code are permanent and tied to your menu slot, not to the PDF file itself. When you update your menu, you upload a new PDF through your dashboard. The old PDF is replaced and the link immediately serves the new version. Customers who scan the same QR code they scanned six months ago will see your latest prices, seasonal specials, and updated dishes. You never need to reprint QR codes, update your Instagram bio, or notify anyone — the change happens instantly and silently behind the same permanent link.
